What to expect?
We have a crew of about 30 campers, 5 counselors, and several other volunteers, guest lecturers, and staff. A typical day includes lectures, activities, lunch/snacks provided, lab tours, and crafts - all with a neuroscience focus. Some topics include the brain’s structure/function, our body’s sensory system, how neurons communicate, how muscles work, neuroprostheses, neuropathies, and learning about some inspirational and pioneering STEM leaders. We will be primarily in the Florida Gym classrooms and labs, but will tour a few other labs on the UF campus throughout the week.
